First thing this morning, Russia attacked Ukraine

Ukraine

On the 24th of February 2022, Russia launched a military offensive into Ukraine, causing civilian casualties and destroying the country’s infrastructure. More than a quarter of the population has been forced to flee their homes. In the first few weeks, more than 4.3 million refugees fled Ukraine, and a second as many were internally displaced. It is the fastest growing refugee crisis since World War II.

We cannot be indifferent to the suffering of our neighbours – we immediately set out to help!

Ukrainians who stayed in the country

10.10.2022

First thing this morning, Russia attacked Ukraine with a force we have not witnessed in a long time. Putin is taking revenge for the bridge to Crimea. Already dozens of missiles have fallen on Kiev, Lviv, Dnipro and many other Ukrainian cities. Panic can be heard in the voice of our partners in Kiev, Dnipro and Odessa for the first time. The missiles are still falling!

There is no power in Kiev. The temperature tonight dropped to 2 degrees. Residents who were slowly starting to function relatively normally, today again, as on 24 February, do not know what will happen next. They are afraid. They are thinking of fleeing.

Fear and the lack of access to energy sources, which makes it impossible to stay warm during the increasingly cold nights, means that many people will again choose to flee the country. Those who stay will need support. Just as they did in the early days of the war.

Let us not forget! Let us not get used to war and violence! A fundraiser for humanitarian aid is being launched on our homepage. We are working on a plan. We ask you to join the fundraiser and help us prepare. We will be resupplying the Bakhmut area again in the coming days. Thanks to you, we can be ready at any time to go to the next place, wherever help will be most needed.
