On the 24th of February 2022, Russia launched a military offensive into Ukraine, causing civilian casualties and destroying the country’s infrastructure. More than a quarter of the population has been forced to flee their homes. In the first few weeks, more than 4.3 million refugees fled Ukraine, and a second as many were internally displaced. It is the fastest growing refugee crisis since World War II.
We cannot be indifferent to the suffering of our neighbours – we immediately set out to help!

We are getting ready to spend another night at the border. We will attempt to cross it one more time to provide aid on the Ukrainian side.
We are refilling thermoses with hot tea, filling our car with blankets and with dry provisions. We receive invaluable help every day from Sister Małgorzata Chmielewska, the Polska 2050 Association and, of course, from you.
At the same time, we are dealing with as many requests as we can for evacuation from Ukraine and for supplies for those who remain in the war-ravaged country. We are getting signals that Lviv is starting to run out of food, medicines and blood bags, because people want to share them with those fighting in the eastern part of the country.
We can still see the images of last night before our eyes.
Have a look at what the situation was like. Today will be even more difficult, as rain with snow is expected.
