Urgent Mission: Food and medicine for Ntamugenga - every penny saves a life!

Democratic Republic of Congo

The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.

Overview:
  • 77% of the population live in extreme poverty for less than $1.90 a day
  • 16% of the country’s population, i.e. over 13 million people, require immediate humanitarian assistance
  • 13,6 million people are deprived of access to safe water sources and proper sanitary and hygienic facilities
  • numerous outbreaks of deadly diseases, including measles, malaria, cholera and Ebola
  • about 10% of all malaria deaths in sub-Saharan Africa occurred here
Our hospital carries over

27 000

We treat about

These are the lives saved by your PLN 5, sometimes PLN 15. The hunger of children breeds resentment among you and us. It is very important that you are turning it into active support.

These kids are just single patients among hundreds, but we are not telling you this to boast, but to alert you – help is urgently needed again! ?

From Sister Agnieszka in Ntamugenga we are receiving chilling news of explosions just 10 km from our centre. The conflict between the rebels and the army is growing in intensity again. Any day now, the number of wounded, sick and hungry will increase. Most of them will be women and children. Some of our patients, whose photos you can see here, are still in our care. It is their lives that are in imminent danger if we do not organise food and medicine supplies in time.

? We have launched an urgent Fundraiser on the homepage. Its amount, although high, is the value of a whole month’s operation of the nutrition centre and hospital. Help is needed like never before. Help us save the patients before transport is no longer possible!

We need to dry out the buildings as quickly as possible

Urgent help for flood victims

The most vulnerable are the elderly and disabled, living in remote rural areas and small towns, where reaching them is difficult. You’ll be informed about every penny spent to help them. 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards targeted, precise aid tailored to the needs of those affected.
