Create a new tradition with us

Democratic Republic of Congo

The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.

Overview:
  • 26,4 million people – 27% of the population suffer from hunger
  • 2,8 million children under 5 years are acutely malnourished
  • 41,8% million children under 5 years are stunted
  • 63,2% of children below 5 years of age and 41% of women  15-49 years are anemic
In 2024, we have saved approximately

504

people from starvation
We take in at least

80

children a week in our nutrition center

PLN 18, about 300 calories. At this price we managed to find the most expensive doughnut in Warsaw today, for which a long queue is already forming. A queue for the sweet bun, a symbol of the end of the carnival and the beginning of Lent. A time of reconciliation and modesty.

Is PLN 18 a lot or a little?

For us, it is the price of an expensive craving. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, it is an amount that can decide the life of a child. It is PLN 18, or even PLN 15, which allows for an entire day of nutritional therapy and educates parents about nutrition, farming and animal husbandry.

We would like to persuade you to do something a little bit crazy. That this doughnut, which we will all forget in a moment, becomes instead a therapeutic meal for one of the children in our nutrition centre in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We guarantee that it will be an unforgettable day for them.

We dream of this sweet symbol going hand in hand with real help for those who could only dream of even the cheapest doughnut and those 300 calories today. To Joseline, who is still struggling with the effects of malnutrition. To Huruma, whose mother we continue to feed so that she has food for her son. To the hundreds of children whose parents are begging us for help while their farmland, hitherto able to feed their entire family, is being destroyed by the rebellion.

Take a look at GoodWorks 24/7 and donate PLN 3, 5, maybe 15 today to those who have nothing. Create a new tradition with us – a truly Good Thursday!

Urgent help for seniors

Let’s save Laudy and Jean from homelessness

Their entire life savings have been wiped out by the economic crisis. They haven’t been able to pay rent for nine months. If the landlord loses patience, they’ll end up on the street - with nowhere to turn. We don’t want them counting down the days until eviction!
