Place: Burkina Faso – The agricultural project in Gourcy

To cultivate plants in a vegetable garden, one needs water. In the northern part of Burkina Faso, the climate is very harsh and dry, typical of Sahel. Annual precipitation level is around 600 mm, and long droughts, high temperatures and the Harmattan blowing from Sahara desert make it really difficult to cultivate plants. The project will work only if we drill several wells in the garden and keep irrigating the area.

Our project in Burkina Faso was developed from the very beginning to launch a certain pool of good that would stimulate the small local community of this forgotten part of Africa. We provided the families with grain and breeding animals, we have built a mill and we are planning to add a bakery. We want hope to return to the northern village of Gourcy, inhabited by extremely poor people. We want to teach them entrepreneurship and provide them with an appropriate start-up package, which will allow them to start fulfilling their dreams of work and life of dignity.
