Place: Democratic Republic of Congo – Hospital in Ntamugenga

Congo has just recently recovered from the ebola epidemic that ravaged the country in the last two years. But there is no time for joy or celebrations as the deadly virus has been replaced by another one – the coronavirus. Coronavirus may have a lower death rate than ebola but it spreads more aggressively.

Instead of panicking, the hospital’s staff in Ntamugenga is doing whatever possible to protect itself from the virus. Once the first coronavirus patients arrive here, the situation will be much more difficult than in European hospitals. Ntamugenga is in the middle of the bush, has no electricity and lacks essential medical supplies, factors that will make it all the more challenging for the hospital’s staff, who will have to face the pandemic in a sick and malnourished community where social isolation is impossible.

Support our medical staff in Ntamugenga by providing basic personal protective equipment.
