With you, we have given Marie Louise a new life

Democratic Republic of Congo

The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.

Overview:
  • 62% of the population live in extreme poverty on less than $2.15 a day
  • about 10 million people require immediate humanitarian assistance
  • about 33 million people are deprived of access to safe water sources and proper sanitary and hygienic facilities
  • numerous outbreaks of deadly diseases, including measles, malaria, cholera and Ebola
  • about 11% of all global malaria deaths occur here
Our hospital carries over

medical procedures per year
We treat about

6 200

Do you remember the little one we diagnosed in March and April and sent with your help all the way to France for cardiac surgery?

Well, ladies and gentlemen, Marie Louise didn’t just come through it successfully. This brave girl has managed to learn the basics of French in the meantime! And although the children in our photos always seem to be very concerned about the camera’s eye and pose very seriously, behind the scenes Marie is already laughing and teasing like any child her age.

You donated more than US$1,200 to help Marie, with which we were able to get her a passport, the necessary permits, organise the transportation of documents and pay to cross the border. Without these funds, we would have only had a dream. With you, we gave this child a new life.

This and so much more is made possible, among other things, by the Fives you donate. A mere five zloty donation allows us to plan the children’s treatment and always remain ready to help. It is thanks to you that Marie Louise did not have to wait for any fundraiser and as soon as the opportunity arose from the French side, we sent her to the other side of the world. Thank you!

Israel has entered Lebanon. Our beneficiaries and thousands of residents in southern Lebanon are no longer safe.

Urgent Help for Lebanon

“This is not our war,” the people of Lebanon tell us in despair. “We have become hostages. We are completely powerless.” When people are being hurt, we cannot wait. We must act immediately!
