It is Jikaze Safari’s second birthday today

Democratic Republic of Congo

The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.

Overview:
  • 77% of the population live in extreme poverty for less than $1.90 a day
  • 16% of the country’s population, i.e. over 13 million people, require immediate humanitarian assistance
  • 13,6 million people are deprived of access to safe water sources and proper sanitary and hygienic facilities
  • numerous outbreaks of deadly diseases, including measles, malaria, cholera and Ebola
  • about 10% of all malaria deaths in sub-Saharan Africa occurred here

The first photograph is from the 21st of January, the second from today. Both photos show the same boy, Jikaze Safari, who turns two today. You are all working miracles here, there is no doubt about it! Every time you decide to shop at GoodWorks 24/7, you change or even save someone’s life!

Safari looks nothing like he did a few months ago. We are doing everything we can to help him forget his suffering and hunger for good! We feed and spoil him. Our goal is to get him to a weight of at least 15 kg. Only then will it be possible to operate on the boy and permanently remove the obstacle in his digestive tract that brought him a step away from death.

Join us! Let’s perform some miracles today! A therapeutic meal for a child with hunger disease costs only 15 PLN! It will take no more than 3 minutes to buy it in our unique shop of good.
