The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.

Believe it or not, those three pictures show the same boy, Héritiere. The fight for his life was dramatic but it had a happy ending, as evidenced by his bright smile!
The youngster is now going to school! He just got his uniform and school supplies, purchased thanks to your donations. He is excited to start school (but not as much as we are!) and looking forward to meeting his new classmates and learning math. Thanks to your support, we saved his life AND restored his childhood.
