Celine, despite her young age, has shed many tears over pregnancies that ended in miscarriage for her. It’s hard to describe the joy we saw in her eyes when she finally became a MUM last August!!!

Celine is 25 years old and is one of the Burkinabe women working at the Good Factory garden in Gourcy. Celine’s dreams were like the dreams of women in all other parts of the world – she really wanted to find a stable job, live a healthy life and start a family. You have created a workplace for her, which is a self-sustaining garden, helping the local community not only to enrich their own diet, but also to develop their business. You have greened 3 hectares of desert with us, which is now a real green paradise. You built a mill with us, which allows the community in Gourcy to process grain and sell flour!

And just as you brought life into this piece of land, you gave Celine the most beautiful gift of life – her own dream child. Without the specialist gynaecological care you provided, which she could not afford, there would have been no chance of maintaining the pregnancy. And yet, medicine worked perfectly in this case too, and today Celine is the happiest mum under the Saharan sun. She is mum to little Caroline.

We celebrate Mother’s Day in Poland today. For women like Celine it is one of the most important holidays of the year, but for many others it is a cause for tears.

Lack of gynaecological care, difficult birth conditions, lack of perinatal education or simply malnutrition stand in the way of happy motherhood for many women in countries such as Burkina Faso. It pains us to realise that sometimes all it takes is literally a few doctor’s visits for a mum-to-be in her eighth week of pregnancy to hear the longed-for heartbeat of her baby on an ultrasound. After all, such a visit to the doctor in Burkina Faso often costs the equivalent of just a few dozen PLN!

By giving a Bouquet of Good you create equal opportunities for these women, so that basic medical care before and during pregnancy is not a luxury! Visit GoodWorks 24/7 today and give a Bouquet of real GOOD!

Urgent help for seniors

Let’s save Laudy and Jean from homelessness

Their entire life savings have been wiped out by the economic crisis. They haven’t been able to pay rent for nine months. If the landlord loses patience, they’ll end up on the street - with nowhere to turn. We don’t want them counting down the days until eviction!
