Will we miss the year that’s ending? Let’s hope not. Let’s hope the new one is better—more peaceful, full of good surprises, and free of scarcity. Let’s wish for a world where no one has to go without. Meanwhile, the world keeps moving forward. Especially when it comes to causing pain, inventing even more elaborate ways to wage war and settle disputes. Never before have so many people been forced to flee their homes. Never before have so many lived in fear of what tomorrow may bring.
We can’t stop all the evil in the world—but we can overwhelm it with good! And we’ve got some good news to share: together, you’ve already helped us produce a lot of good!
In 2024, we provided aid through 11 projects across 3 continents, with a total value of nearly €825,000. It’s incredible what we can achieve together with you. At the beginning of the year, we reached the ends of our world—on the edge of civilization and the Sahara, we developed our project in Mauritania. We’re caring for mothers who, with their disabled children, were begging at busy intersections in the
Mauritanian capital. Chcemy, by już nie musiały. Będzie niespodzianka. Opowiemy Wam o szczegółach w nowym roku.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lebanon, and Burkina Faso, life this year often felt like a devil dousing already-burning flames with oil. And yet—our hospital in rebel-occupied Congo didn’t close its doors for even a single day. It continues to admit patients and fight off hunger, that inescapable shadow of war. Nearly 500 children are alive today who might not be, if not for the incredible team at the nutrition center—and your support. You cover the entire cost of that facility! This year alone, thanks to you, we treated 6,500 people suffering from deadly malaria—including 2,850 children under the age of 5. The hospital admitted over 13,000 patients, delivered 920 babies, and its surgeons performed nearly 4,000 procedures—saving victims of accidents, assaults, and explosions.
Things also took a dangerous turn in Lebanon. In September, bombs began falling on a country which is already crippled by economic collapse, unable to elect a president for years, and offering its citizens no future beyond poverty. We were there right away. We delivered food packs, essential medications, warm clothes, and blankets to hundreds of displaced Lebanese families from the south. We gave 1,000 children our Smile in the Box packages—filled with clothes, school supplies, toys, and something sweet—so they could keep being kids, no matter what.
When heavy rains in Lower Silesia triggered massive flooding, in September, we sent an emergency response team to the area to help coordinate aid deliveries to the affected regions. It became clear just how vital it is to communicate and work together toward smart, well-coordinated relief efforts. Our support—including industrial dehumidifiers, assistance with repairs, and help rebuilding damaged foundations—is still reaching families in the most difficult situation.
We also support people experiencing homelessness. Together with Warsaw’s City Guard, we visited abandoned buildings, allotment gardens, and garages—distributing 50 Warm Packs (winter coats, boots, hats, gloves, scarves, hoodies, sleeping bags, thermoses, and blankets). We also gave the guards several more full packs so they could provide help immediately during their patrols. In partnership with Teatr Kamienica, we hosted a Christmas event for nearly 230 people in need. Every guest received a package full of warm clothes and sweet treats.
We continue to support Ukrainians. We supply hospitals evacuated from the front line, but also work at the national level to help coordinate and streamline humanitarian aid efforts. Our collaboration with Estonia’s ERC and Tallinn University has led to a brand new project—more on that soon. 😉
We’re especially proud of our project in Greece. The very first drop of high-quality, delicious olive oil has just flowed from our own machine. On Lesbos, we’re giving more families fleeing war and violence the chance to work—and make their dream of independence a reality.
None of this would have been possible without you! Your trust means everything to us. Thank you for being there. Thank you for every high five ! This year, you’ve given us over €155,000 worth of high fives. Thank you for every single contribution!
