Homelessness remains a major social issue in Poland. Tens of thousands of people living on the streets experience social exclusion. At Good Factory, we believe that every person, regardless of their past, has the inalienable right to dignity and respect.

Overview:
  • there are more than 30,000 homeless people in Poland. 84% of them are men.
  • most of them live in the Mazowieckie, Śląskie and Pomorskie voivodeships
  • every year, more than 100 people in Poland die due to cold-related causes
  • the most common reasons for homelessness are: familial conflict, addiction issues, and eviction

In the winter of 2023, we handed out

251

care packages with sleeping bags, coats and shoes to the homeless
100% of your donation will be directed towards aid.

We purchased 20 air dryers

We have launched additional communication channels, allowing us to receive information about more villagers who urgently need support.

We have provided the residents of Bodzanów with 20 professional air dryers and developed a system for equipment exchange, which will allow for maximum use across a large number of households.

We are monitoring the progress of the work and pushing for crossing to be rebuilt

Work at the warehouse is ongoing – we continue to receive aid deliveries and coordinate distribution to those in need.

We are visiting houses, checking the progress of clean-up efforts conducted by volunteers, and directing support to areas where it’s urgently needed.

Together with the soldiers, we are working to rebuild the river crossing. The collapse of the bridge has isolated a building which houses elderly and disabled people.

We are coordinating groups of volunteers

We are coordinating groups of volunteers carrying out the hardest clean-up tasks. We are managing the warehouse and receiving new donations for flood victims.

A building inspector has begun visiting houses to assess the situation.

– It all happened in an instant. The water swept everything away. It toppled power poles, shattered asphalt. This wasn’t just flooding; it was complete devastation. This flood was nothing like the one back in ’97.

People have lost their homes and their life’s belongings. The water has receded, but in many areas there’s still no electricity. It’s still difficult to reach many of those in need, even using heavy equipment. The water destroyed roads, bridges, and all infrastructure.

We are responding, but responding wisely. It’s not about using the funds to buy and send just anything, or even everything that comes to mind. We want to provide exactly what specific people need, already after distributing the collected aid – to avoid duplicating help. The residents of Bodzanów and Rudawa will need our support this winter when the media attention will have completely faded.

Clearing debris, removing sludge, and drying out the buildings are the main activities we’ve coordinated, and which are already underway or completed. The elderly and disabled, especially those from rural areas and small towns, remain in a tragic situation, as it’s hard to reach them. We’re helping with renovations and providing essential household equipment. We make sure they receive warm meals. We are telling you their stories. You’ll know about every penny spent on aid. 100% of the collected funds will go towards targeted, precise aid tailored to the needs of the flood’s victims.

The media’s attention is fading, but now our commitment must grow stronger. Help us prepare the people affected by the flood for the upcoming winter!
