We’re Restoring Humanity to Refugees on Lesbos

20.08.2025

Night. A dinghy reaches the shore of the Greek island. Among the soaking passengers is a young girl. Cold and in shock, she can barely stand. All the blankets and clothes Katerina had in her car are already gone. Katerina looks at the girl trembling with pain, then at herself. Without hesitation, she takes off her own clothes and wraps the shivering teenager in them.

In moments like this, there is no “mine” or “yours.” Since the crisis began, Katerina’s wardrobe has become a storehouse of aid for others. This gesture is now part of her everyday life—giving everything she has so that, amid all the chaos, fear, and cold, someone can feel even a little dignity and warmth.

This moment, when the other person is all that matters, is the essence of Katerina’s work. It’s not about delivering meals—any catering company could do that. It’s not about handing out clothes—the warehouses are already bursting at the seams. Katerina restores humanity to people when the world wants to forget them.

But for her to be there, in the middle of the night, ready to act, she needs support. That support is you. It’s our shared work that gives Katerina the tools to make a difference.

Today, the day after World Humanitarian Day, we invite you to join Katerina’s team in the most meaningful way—by donating one hour of your work today to help those in need in Greece through the “SUPPORT” form.

Every hour you give turns into tangible aid. Thanks to it, Katerina can prepare a meal for a diabetic mother or hire a worker in the olive grove, enabling a family to survive through their own labor. Your hour at a desk can become another day of survival for someone on the shore of Lesbos.

Let’s save Laudy and Jean from homelessness

Their entire life savings have been wiped out by the economic crisis. They haven’t been able to pay rent for nine months. If the landlord loses patience, they’ll end up on the street - with nowhere to turn. We don’t want them counting down the days until eviction!
