A Hot Meal
Andrzej is sitting under a bridge, his twisted ankle has been bothering him since morning. He checks his watch: 2:30 p.m. The soup kitchen closes in half an hour, and he’s on the other side of the city. The cold tightens his lungs; his hands went numb an hour ago. He won’t make it there.
“We have something for you,” we say, pulling out a small package. Andrzej looks at it warily. He appreciates the energy bars and cold sandwiches—they do give you energy—but in this cold it’s hard for him to swallow chilled bread with ham. “This isn’t an ordinary meal,” we explain. “You just stick this pin in here and here. In a few minutes, you’ll have a hot stew.”
He doesn’t believe us. But moments later, he feels warmth spreading through his hands, and steam begins to rise from the can. Relief appears in his eyes.
This isn’t an ordinary food parcel. It’s warmth—when a person needs it most.
A self-heating meal is an invention that costs at least €7.50 in shops (as of January 2026). By buying in bulk and receiving a nonprofit discount, we can provide it for just €5. Most importantly, it doesn’t require a gas stove, dishes, a campfire, or hot water. All you need to do is insert the included pin into the marked spots, and the meal heats itself up in a few minutes.
For someone who doesn’t have the strength to walk to a soup kitchen. Who has trouble walking. Who is freezing and needs to warm their hands. Who, right now, in the middle of a snowstorm, longs for something hot.
We hand out these meals during every field outreach. We see that they work. They don’t get wasted at the bottom of a backpack, they don’t go cold while waiting for hunger to strike. They’re ready exactly when a person truly needs them.

Gift a Hot Meal that will warm someone from the inside—today.
