This is a report from the front lines of the fight for health—written today with sweat and human strength.

This lamp and operating table didn’t arrive by courier or in a large humanitarian shipment. They were handed over at the Rwandan border, from hand to hand, like the most precious baton in a relay.

The distances aren’t huge, but in Congo every transport is a challenge. Roads that vanish in the rain. Border checks. The weight of equipment that must be carried through places no cart can pass. A logistical puzzle in which every piece must fit perfectly, because a human life is at stake.

In the Congolese operating room, a surgeon’s precision once depended only on daylight or the trembling beam of a headlamp. This lamp is a revolution. No more guessing, certainty in every cut. Hundreds of lives saved during surgeries that, without this light, would have had little chance.

This lamp doesn’t hang from the ceiling by willpower alone. It hangs because of your weekly “High-Fives.”

Every 5 EUR you give us each week turns into miracles like this. Real. Tangible. Your regular support allows us to plan, order, and install life-saving equipment. Without you, our beneficiaries would have no chance. Thank you to everyone who is part of the “High Five us!” program this year.

If what you see makes sense to you, if building opportunities where there are none feels meaningful—join us. High Five us! and become part of the team making the impossible possible.

It only takes 5 EUR a week.

Urgent help for seniors

Let’s save Laudy and Jean from homelessness

Their entire life savings have been wiped out by the economic crisis. They haven’t been able to pay rent for nine months. If the landlord loses patience, they’ll end up on the street - with nowhere to turn. We don’t want them counting down the days until eviction!
