And off they went!

Rwanda

Rwanda is one of the smallest countries on the African continent and also the most densely populated. There are about 525 inhabitants per square kilometre! Because of its natural landscape, Rwanda is known as the “land of a thousand hills”, and because of its history, also the “land of a thousand problems”.

Overview:
  • around 14 million inhabitants
  • in 1994, it was the scene of a genocide — in just 100 days, about 1 million people of the Tutsi ethnic group were murdered and 2 million fled the country
  • an agricultural country — about 62% of the working population is employed in farming (coffee, tea, bananas)

And off they went! There are already two of our high-fivers in Africa, who, by getting involved in the “High-FIVE!” project, won the chance to see our projects with their own eyes!

They started with Kasisi, the largest children’s home in Zambia, which is cared for by our sister foundation. This is where it all started, in Kasisi. 10 years ago, we became convinced of how great things we can do when we act together. From this certainty, a year later the Good Factory was born.

From Kasisi, Marta and Marcin will fly to Rwanda. They will meet with the Sisters of the Angels, who in Kabuga run the only hospice in the entire country. During the week-long trip, they will have the opportunity to see that it doesn’t take big donations, that even a fiver can work wonders, provided it’s given regularly. It is thanks to these small donations, which we keep asking you for, that we are already among the needy in 11 countries on 3 continents.

By giving us a high-five once a week, you get a chance to see for yourself in a year, like Marta and Marcin, how our projects work. But that’s not all. Every day you will be confident that your small donation works and saves someone’s life and health. You’ll be closest to the front lines among war victims in need of warmth and food in Ukraine, you’ll be feeding kids suffering from hunger disease in the Congo, creating new educational opportunities for young women in Senegal and giving farm work to residents of a deserted area in Burkina Faso. You’ll donate a warm meal to sick and terrified newcomers on the Greek island of Lesbos.

We’ll prove to you that it’s worth helping, and you can’t spend your fiver any better.

Israel has entered Lebanon. Our beneficiaries and thousands of residents in southern Lebanon are no longer safe.

Urgent Help for Lebanon

“This is not our war,” the people of Lebanon tell us in despair. “We have become hostages. We are completely powerless.” When people are being hurt, we cannot wait. We must act immediately!
