An hour of learning for Kevin
Kevin is the youngest patient of the hospice in Kabuga. He is suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. His family is unable to provide him with proper living conditions as his health is constantly deteriorating. Kevin is using a wheelchair and his muscles get weaker every day. He is receiving professional help from the sisters. The hospice has become his home. We must do everything to make him feel at home, not at a hospice. We want to give him a chance to develop, pay for his individual lessons, books and educational games, give him a chance to find in himself curiosity of the world – in one word, to do everything to divert his attention from his condition. Rwandan schools are not ready to accept Kevin, therefore we want to provide him with individual lessons in Kabuga.
